NATAS New York Inducts Gold and Silver Circle Class of 2017


The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) New York Chapter honored the crème de la crème in television and journalism at the prestigious Gold & Silver Circle Awards inductee’s luncheon. The ceremony was held on Thursday, November 30th, at the opulent Lambs Club, located at 132 West 44th Street, New York, NY. 

The class of 2017 inductees recognized included nine silver and two gold recipients. The Gold & Silver Circles are comprised of an elite group of professionals who have made significant contributions to the New York television market. The Silver Circle recognizes individuals who have devoted a quarter of a century or more to the television industry. The Gold Circle honors those legends whose contributions span fifty years or more.

“This year’s illustrious honorees have distinguished themselves in their positions, amongst their peers, and in our community,” said Denise Rover, President of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter. “Each has made a significant contribution to our industry, whether it be in entertainment, news, or sports. We salute these 11 exceptional people who have made an impact in New York media.”

The class of 2017 included: CBS 2 News Anchor Dana Tyler, CBS Television Stations Senior Vice President of Creative Services Bruce E. Bauer, WXTS Noticias Univision 41 News Director Esteban Creste, WGRZ-TV Chief Photojournalist Andy DeSantis, News 12 Networks President Pat Dolan, Director of WABC Eyewitness News Mark Fetner, YES Network President of Production and Executive Director of Programming John J. Filippelli, NJTV News Anchor Mary Alice Williams, Actress/performer Susan Lucci, and TV icon Maury Povich.
